Specialist High Skills Major Program

Student Success is about meeting the individual learning needs of each and every student. Schools are providing students with more opportunities to customize their high school experience and build on their strengths and interests through a variety of new and enhanced learning options. One of those options is the new Specialist High Skills Major.

Program Inclusions

• a series of bundled credits, designed to help students prepare for a career in a specific economic sector,
• sector-recognized certifications and training courses (like WHIMIS, First Aid and CPR etc.)
• experiential learning opportunities (co-op)
• “Reach Ahead” experiences connected with the student’s selected post-secondary pathway
• developing essential skills and work habits required by employers
